Richmond Hill Amphitheater

The City Amphitheater is an outdoor performance venue for local and regional events. The design utilizes simple geometry and exposed structure and detailing to create a covered pavillion. The amphitheater faces a gently sloped grassed seating area which provides an intimate setting for a crowd of 1,000 people, but can serve nearly 3,200 people with overflow seating. The concept behind the design was to create a simple yet industrial design that recalled the imagery of the local railroad and related industrial structures. The upward pitch of the roof effectively reflects the music to the audience while providing cover to the performers and support for lighting and equipment.
